Welcome to Lions Soccer’s new program – Soccer classes for children with a variety of challenges

LSC wants to use its decades of experience to encourage kids who might not thrive in other classes. To patiently teach them soccer basics and help them discover a love for the game, regardless of what might otherwise hold them back. What we refer to as “challenges” is a very broad concept. It could simply be shyness or not being naturally athletic or it could be children on various spectrums. We will personally discuss the needs of your player to place them in the perfect group.

We aim to use soccer as a vehicle to give these children a new sense of confidence and grow self-esteem. Along with improving their gross motor skills, coordination, fitness and strength, they may also improve their social skills, as they experience the principles of team work, communication and cooperation. There will be no set format and no rigid structure. This is a specialized, highly flexible class and every lesson will be tailored to the individuals taking part.

The classes will be once or twice a week in 8 week cycles. These cycles can be repeated, indefinitely, year round. Rates will be similar to all other classes.

Details, schedules and start times will depend on building suitable groups of 6-10 children within 2 or 3 years of each others ages. Friend groups are welcome. Private groups of any number of players can be considered. Individual private classes are available. In such cases, Coach can come to your chosen location, if desired.

If you have a budding soccer player that you think would benefit from this program – please contact us.

"I am so excited to launch this program. Most classes coach based on the most advanced individuals in the group and often marginalize kids with challenges. Over 30 years of coaching, my gratification and greatest sense of achievement has come from introducing kids to soccer that would usually never be involved. And fostering a love of the game that will stay with them for life. Helping a kid love soccer and reap all the benefits involved has always made me happier and more satisfied than making a talented player a little better. I urge you to explore this unique program for your child and begin the process of significantly changing their lives.”
